Damn!!! At the end of the video is straight knowledge. I never knew how depp that shit was.
watched that last part atleast 4 times. so basicly i could go around sampling 18 records and put out there with people on it and make 1 million off of it. at the end the people i sampled from only get $250,000? and i keep $750,000?
if you sample 18 records and make 1,000,000 you will be sued by 18 different people for 250,000. you will owe a lot of money and may go to jail.
in the vid im only talking about using one sample and making one record and being sue for one sample..
so for every sample you use you can and will be sued for each sample…
Ay supreme, i got an mpc2500 and i’ve been stayin away from it for a year now while i’m using logic. i don’t know how i can clear up this memory cuz everytime i use the chop shop it says insufficient memory. If i made a video could you make one back? thanks dude. message me if it’s cool
did you expand your ram in your mpc?
if not that why you are getting insufficient memory…
you need this…
Expand the memory capacity of your MPC500, MPC1000, or MPC2500 with the EXM128 Memory Expansion Module. By adding the EXM128 to your MPC, you instantly increase the memory to 128MB – that equals a lot of sample time! With the EXM128, you can add more samples or record longer loops.
Aye Supreme would it be better to use the sample clearance forms so you don’t have to pay the artist being sampled, or just go ahead and use the sample and let your lawyer settle it? Also its there a certain amount of sample time you can use without getting sued?
your real nice playa, thanks for the help…
Lmao lol yu made comedy out of choppin up
great entertaining and informational vids. greez from germany supreme. i wonder if the mpc 1000 has this chop shop functionality aswell. the akai page doesnt list this feature under the 1000. what do you think about digital software controllers from akai compared to the mpcs? is this the future or u still down oldschool?

software is the future the future is now!.
for me it’s the mpc but i have been using software from day one when software was no good but now software is taking it.
click to make a beat still dont free good to me.
i need nkobs ,buttons and pads lol.
software has all that too but you need a computer.
music is music use all tools.
it used to be , before 1990, that the publishing companies would allow you to sample up to 7 seconds of any musical compositions for commercial use. until they realized that people were making their own musical arrangements with no consent. in other words they found a way to make more money off the shit people sampled from one of their artist catalogue. now there is like a 70 year lease on music you can sample for free without getting sued. or something like that…….nice work supreme!
Man! I love how he broke down the last minute of this video. For someone not in the biz he cleared up years of guessing in 1 minute!
yo preme ! howcome after i trim , chop to 16 regions and convert to 16 pads ………… all the pads play the same sample and not the chopped regions?
what are u using mpc 2500?
convert the chop to a program
then in your main window next to pgm choose the program you just made.
you take time out to show people how to actually do shit i like dat. “supreme’s da realest”!!!!
but damn even if you flipped the 2 bar sample and made it unidentifiable they can still sue you for 25%?

Chapter 6: Creating and Editing
SLICE SOUND
This edit option is only available from the ZONE screen.
After you have divided a sound into zones, you can use this mode to make each individual zone
into a new sample. You can also create a new program containing these samples where each
sample will be assigned to 16 drum pads
Yo whatsup man nice vid! But I’m having a dumbass problem. When I got a sample, like I got one right now from a marvin gaye song, I’m not sure how to tell whether its 2 bars, 1 bar, or 83287 bar’s. I’m a beginner so I’m having trouble with counting out the bars and the tactic for this. Could you help?
